Set Printer Model

The Set Printer Model window (a.k.a. Set Printer Type) is used to identify the type of printer (if any) that will be attached to this device and to set parameters that influence printing.

A list of supported printers is displayed in the middle portion of the window.  To select a printer, simply tap on the appropriate printer in the list.

Data Fields

• Supported Printers
  Required.  Selection list.
  Select the appropriate printer in the list.
  • When the selected printer is "No Printer", the remainder of the data fields are disabled and all application printing functions are also disabled.
• Number of order receipt copies
  Optional.  Dropdown selection.
  Select the default number of receipt copies you would like to have printed for an order.
  • When a receipt is printed for an order, one copy (the original) is always printed.  The number defined here denotes the default number of copies, in addition to the original, that should be printed.
  • The value specified here can be overridden, if desired, each time a receipt is printed.
  • When the selected printer is Print to HTML, the number of additional receipt copies is assumed to always be zero (0).
• Cash report required before sync
  Optional.  Checkbox.
  Tap on the checkbox to set the required status of the Cash Report.
  • Turning this option on (checked) ensures that a synchronization cannot occur until the Cash Report has been printed.
• Activity report required before sync
  Optional.  Checkbox.
  Tap on the checkbox to set the required status of the Activity Report.
  • Turning this option on (checked) ensures that a synchronization cannot occur until the Activity Report has been printed.

Actions

• Tap to save your printer model settings.  A message is displayed when the save processing has finished.
• Tap to return to the Functions Menu window.  Any setting changes that have not been saved are ignored.
• Tap to print a test page on the selected printer.
  • When switching from one printer in the list to another, you must first save your new settings before a test can be performed.
  • If printing to a paper printer (vs. printing to HTML):  Prior to printing the test page, you are asked to confirm that the printer is attached.  You may then choose to continue or cancel the printing.
