Set Device Id
(Android/iOS/desktop)

The data that is sent to your device during synchronization is based on your logon user id and the id of your Android/iOS/desktop/laptop device. The device id is also used to compose the order reference numbers associated with new sales orders and new credit orders that are entered on the device.

NOTE: This topic addresses setting the device id on a Android/iOS/desktop/laptop device. When the application is run on a Windows Mobile device, a different procedure is required. See the Set Device Id (Windows Mobile) topic for details.

CAUTION: In order to process a change to the device id, all data currently in the device database must be deleted. A sync with the server must then be performed to obtain data that is suitable for the new device id.

You should not change your device id unless your System Administrator instructs you to do so.

Data Fields

This device's unique device id
Required. 3 characters.
Enter your assigned device id. Your entered value must be 3 characters in length and should not contain any spaces or special characters.

Actions

Tap to save your entered device id. A message is displayed when the save processing has finished.
- Prior to processing a save request, the application checks for existing data in your device's database. If data is found, a message is displayed informing you that the data will be deleted. You may then choose to continue or cancel the save. If you continue, the application then checks for any data that should have been sent to the server (customer orders and customer edits). If data is found, a message is displayed informing you so. You may choose to continue with the save or cancel.
- When the application is being run on the device for the first time, the application will exit and must then be restarted. At other times, the next window displayed is the Synchronize With Server window or the Functions Menu window, depending on what transpired during the save processing.
Tap if you have made entries and you wish to have the entries ignored.
- When the application is being run on the device for the first time, the application will terminate. At other times, you will be returned to the Functions Menu window.
