Set Logon User

The Set Logon User window is where you identify yourself to the application.  The data that is sent to your device during synchronization is based on the value you set here and the value set for device id.

The entered user id must match the id of a predefined sales rep user on the server; however, the application does not attempt to validate your entry until an actual sync with the server is attempted.

A logon user id must be established in order to perform any other application functions.  Until an initial logon occurs, the only functions available on the Functions Menu are Set Logon User and Exit.

CAUTION:  In order to change the current logon user id, all data currently in the device database must be deleted.  A sync with the server must then be performed to obtain data that is suitable for the new user id.

You should not change your device's logon user id unless instructed to do so by your System Administrator.

Data Fields

• Your user id
  Required.  20 characters max.
  Enter your assigned logon user id.  User ids are case-insensitive.

Actions

• Tap to save your entered logon user id to the database.  A message is displayed when the save processing has finished.
  • Prior to processing a save request, the application checks for existing data in your device database.  If data is found, a message is displayed informing you that the data will be deleted.  You may then choose to continue or cancel the save.  If you continue, the application then checks for any data that should have been sent to the server (customer orders and customer edits).  If data is found, a message is displayed informing you so.  You may choose to continue with the save or cancel.
  • When the application is being run on the device for the first time, the next window displayed is the Set Environment window.  At other times, the next window displayed is the Synchronize With Server window or the Functions Menu window, depending on what transpired during the save processing.
• Tap if you have made entries and you wish to have the entries ignored.  You are then returned to the Functions Menu window.
